A 647-carat world’s largest diamond has been found in Africa

A diamond of approximately 647 carats has recently been discovered. The incredible gem was found in the city of Coromandel, located in Brazil’s Alto Paranaiba region of Minas Gerias.

According to the news confirmed by Mayro Fernando Breno, the diamond is now the second largest precious stone ever found in Brazil. The first, Presidente Vargas weighing 726.6 carats, was also found in the same Coromandel district. The local government disclosed that the most recently found brown diamond was discovered in late May, and caused a significant stir in the city that is home to just over 28,000 people.

Africa’s incredible diamond village where broke people become millionaires overnight. Africa is one of the richest regions on Earth in terms of natural resources and raw materials. The vast continent boasts an extensive portfolio of gemstones – including diamonds, rubies, and sapphires – which can be found across many African countries. These precious stones are sometimes discovered quite literally on residents’ doorsteps, with the potential to change lives overnight.
