Beaverbrooks, the UK jewellery giant, is launching its ‘True’ curated collection of engagement and wedding rings with fully traceable provenance. Produced with both beauty and responsibility in mind, each diamond in the range is fully traceable and comes with a ‘Botswanamark’, a certification that “guarantees it’s been responsibly sourced.
The Collection features solitaire, three-stone and diamond shoulder rings, alongside subtle knot details inspired by the tradition of tying the knot. It includes yellow gold rings, also created with the ‘Single Mine Origin’ gold feature, offering complete transparency in their origin. Plus, every ring from the collection is made in the UK, Beaverbrooks noted.
“Every diamond originates from Botswana, where natural resources play a role in supporting local communities, from education to healthcare and infrastructure. With the Botswanamark certification, shoppers can trace the journey of their diamond and, upon registration, are invited to select a Botswana-based charity to support. With Botswanamark donating 1% of its profits to these initiatives, every purchase not only celebrates a personal milestone, but also contributes to programmes that enrich lives,” Beaverbrooks added.
With the advent of cheaper lab-produced diamonds now heavily advertised, headlined by Pandora’s “ambition to democratise diamond jewellery, making it more accessible to more people,” the move by Beaverbrooks signals the mined diamond industry is fighting back on the authenticity/traceability front.
