

Jewellery shops in Bihar may refuse entry and sale to customers with their faces covered in hijabs, naqabs, burqas (veils), scarves, masks, helmets, etc., the All India Jewellers and Gold Federation said.
Amid rising prices of precious metals in the country, women and men with covered faces “cannot buy gold in Bihar for security reasons”, the State chapter of the All India Jewellers and Gold Federation (AIJGF); Jewellery shops in Bihar may refuse entry and sale to customers with their faces covered in hijabs, naqabs, burqas (veils), scarves, masks, helmets, etc., the federation said.
“Unless the customers’ faces are visible for identification at the time of purchase, their entry into the shop will be restricted,” Ashok Kumar Verma, president of the AIJGF’s Bihar chapter, said, adding the decision was “purely driven by security considerations, and does not target any particular community or religious group”
