Armed robbery at ‘Namib Desert Diamonds’ in Africa

Namibian Police have confirmed that a security officer employed by Namib Desert Diamonds ( Namdia ) was arrested in connection with an armed robbery of diamonds at the company’s office in Windhoek on Saturday.

Four armed suspects stormed the facility, holding employees hostage at gunpoint and tying up staff members, before escaping with an undisclosed quantity of diamonds.

One of the heist suspects was identified as Max Endjala, a well-known, top-ranked, national local squash player. Endjala died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound. Another injured suspect who shot himself during the robbery is related to Enjala.

The incident also left 57-year old senior Namdia protection officer Francis Eiseb dead.
