Panna diamond sells for $111,000 at auction

During an organised auction, a stunning 19.22-carat diamond recently sold for an impressive $111,000 (Rs. 93,79,360). The diamond was discovered by a part-time miner in India’s Panna district

This exceptional gemstone was the highlight of an auction where 29 diamonds were sold, collectively generating over $139,000. While this single diamond accounted for the revenue, the remaining 28 stones brought in just over $28,000. The event marked a notable rebound in interest, attracting bidders and signalling renewed demand after a slowdown in recent years.

This latest discovery follows a similar success in February 2022, when a 26.11-carat diamond sold for $193,000 at auction. Events like the lucrative underline the opportunities the shallow diamond mines of Panna can offer, transforming the lives of those fortunate enough to uncover these hidden treasures.
