Sotheby’s offers Garff earrings at its First-Ever Auction in Saudi Arabia

Sotheby’s will offer a pair of Graff diamond earrings at its first-ever sale in Saudi Arabia. Sotheby’s Origins auctions take place in Diriyah on 8 February, and feature jewellery and watches by Cartier, Bulgari, including a pair of Graff diamond earrings with two pear-shaped D-colour diamonds – 9.39-carats and 8.46-carats, estimated at $700,000 to $800,000. An Art Deco Cartier sapphire and diamond bracelet estimated $275,000 to $325,000, and a sapphire and diamond ring estimated $300,000 to $400,000; and features a 19.79-carat emerald-cut Burmese sapphire.

It is reported that the Saudi Arabia sale will be the first in which Sotheby’s accepts cryptocurrency payment for all lots. In 2021 it became the first major auction house to accept cryptocurrencies as payment for selected physical artworks.
