UAE offers ‘zero’ making charges during weekend gold shopping

The ‘0% making charges’ in UAE’s gold and jewellery sales is becoming too big to miss out on. Some of the biggest jewellers have launched ‘weekend’ sales of their older collections by offering these at no making- charges.

This step is taken to compete with smaller jewelers who have been aggressively promoting the ‘free’ making charge concept in their promotions. Reportedly, small jewellery retailers use social media channels to announce that they have new collections and shoppers need to pay only the actual price of gold.

It is reported that such retailers were offering jewellery weighing 5 grams each. Most of these bangles and necklaces are imports from Turkey, and normally buyers made multiple purchases ahead of their travel to India. Though they were older jewellery collections, the price per gram was Dh326 for 22K… and buyers could avoid paying making-charges…. makes sense!
