Russia doubled diamond exports to India in August 

In August, Russia increased diamond exports to India by more than half to the highest since April, according to an analysis by RIA Novosti of data from the Indian Ministry of Trade and Industry.

Indian buyers imported $31.3 million worth of Russian diamonds, compared with $13.4 million a year earlier. In addition, the figure was the highest since April, when shipments totaled 92.5 million.

Nevertheless, since the beginning of the year, diamond purchases have

decreased by almost 40 percent, to $342.1 million.
