A poor woman gets lucky; finds 2.69 carat raw diamond in Panna

After toiling hard for two years to find a diamond, a woman has found a 2.69 carat raw diamond in a mine in Madhya Pradesh’s Panna district, which will now be put on auction and could fetch several lakh rupees, officials said on Monday.

Savitri Sisodia said she had been toiling for the past two years to find a diamond in a private mine in Chopra area, unmindful of the scorching sun, dust and grime, adding that she firmly believed this stroke of luck would change her fortunes and that of her family.
