FCRF: Sotheby’s Paris is scheduled for March 26; fine jewels up for sale

Fancy Colour Research Foundation (FCRF) says pre-owned Fancy Color diamonds rarely exchange hands, but when they do, it often happens at auctions. Many of these color diamonds come from older jewelry, making it essential to highlight quality nuances that aren’t available elsewhere.

Two radiant-cut fancy yellow diamonds weighing 10.06 ct and 10.15 ct with their face-up translating to a visual presence of a 12.33 ct weight. Looking at their facet arrangement, we can assume they were cut from what used to be round brilliant-cut diamonds with a lighter saturation. As a result of this unrefined modification, many prominent colorless patches are situated in the crown and under the table, affecting the overall color dispersion and visual impact.
